Shinya Oguchi is a Japanese designer that creates sculptural objects with practical functions. 

Shinya Oguchi reveals his talent in his work called “Arch”, a piece that is both a work of art and a place to sit. Designed to consider the “uniqueness of a bench”, Oguchi has endeavored to create a seat that can be used by three people comfortably for an extended period of time. The arch shape, which repeats throughout the bench, was chosen for both structural purposes and aesthetic appeal.

He was born in 1984. Graduated from the product Design Course, Osaka University of Arts. Worked for JDL, Lenovo Japan and David Lewis Designers(Denmark, Copenhagen), designed for Bang & Olusfen and LG Electronics as an industrial designer. Established an office in Tokyo in 2016. A lot of winning like Red Dot Design Award Best of the Best, IF Design Award etc.
